PUNTA Smart Lockers brought a physical base to Lainappi mobile app

In Lainappi you can take or give items for rent with ease and risk free

Lainappi combines the service and the physical product: Renting is free of charge through the Lainappi app. In turn, Punta lockers serve as the physical platform.

Not everything needs to be owned as the sharing economy is one of today’s trends. Founded in 2020, Tampere-based Lainappi offers innovative household items rental service to consumers and businesses. Through Lainappi, people can take or give items for rent easily and safely.

Antti Moilanen, the CEO of Lainappi, says that the locker concept was born with an innovation competition held by Helsinki City Transport. The most popular categories are tools, sports and recreational equipment, cleaning and gardening supplies and electronics. Lainappi lockers can be found from multiple locations in Helsinki and Tampere.

We searched for a physical locker solution by exploring a variety of operators both in Finland and abroad.

“Punta came up in the searches. We contacted them, sat down and started building. Together with their contact person, Ilkka Ratamo, we discussed the various potential ways of carrying things out. Together we created a creative ensemble to meet our demand. Punta was able to deliver professional support and the friendly cooperation worked smoothly.”

The world is changing, and Punta is on the trend

Ilkka Ratamo from Punta tells, conventional lockers have gained some new applications. We do customer-driven product development where combining lockers and software is on top of the trend.
In Lainappi their software and ours communicate with each other in the desired way.
